I love shopping online. It’s quick, easy, and convenient and luckily I’ve never had a single bad experience with any stores regarding delivery, data protection or payment. I also find that I spend less this way since the amount of money adds up as we go and I am able to hold my horses a bit better than in a regular store. The prices are often lower and I can also get products that are not available in Slovenia. All of the above is why I figured that you might be interested in the stores I like the most.
Let’s start with the stores that I most commonly visit to check out their offer of cosmetics. As this is the category that I most often shop for, there are quite a few of my favorites. Where I can, I will do a price comparison for a couple of products among stores.
ASOS (*click*)
While it’s best known for their wide selection of clothing and accessories, Asos also holds quite a large beauty department (*CLICK*). If you scroll to the bottom you will find daily offers (for instance, today’s offers are 20 % off Barry M, Korres, Yes to and 50 % off Nip & Fab body lines).
Although they only ship some brands (like Benefit and NARS) only to UK and Ireland, they still hold a bunch of brands that I like (NYX, Bourjois, Lord&Berry, Maybelline, Pixi, Rimmel, Yes to etc.). The prices are not necessarily the lowest but they really stock up on new arrivals and you can get things here literally years before they hit Slovenian drugstores (if they ever even do). However, I rarely shop here for products I can also get in Slovenian drugstores where I can usually find a better deal.
LICILA.SI (*click*)
Licila.si is a Slovenian online store that’s very popular among bloggers and general population alike. They really make an effort to try and keep up with the popular brands. The latest edition to that family are the Batiste dry shampoos which really are great and were hard to get until now, Golden Rose , 4 kids and us and Freedom London. The delivery is super quick and the products are shipped in a box, making sure they never get damaged.
The one thing that bothers me is that you can’t search for products categories within the brand. I often spend way more time than I would like to searching through 200+ items from a single brand to find the thing I was looking for.
Licila.si are famous for their great promotions via e-mail so make sure to enter their e-mail list.
MOJADROGERIJA.SI (*click*)
With the new and improved webpage, I find myself wandering this site more and more often. I like the white background as I can imagine the product better that way. Mojadrogerija.si stocks some great brands, such as Ardell, NYX, Milani, Coastal Scents and Zoeva.
Shipping from Mojadrogerija.si is also very fast and safe, so no fears there. They don’t exactly do as many promotions via e-mail as Licila.si, but they still have quite a few going on. Right now, they are having a big nail polish sale!
LOOKFANTASTIC (*click*)
I could go broke from this online store alone. It’s their special promotions that always get the best of me: usually you have to spend 50 £ to get a really, really cool gift with purchase plus 15 or 20 % off entire purchase. And a couple of times per year I just take advantage of the offer, making sure that the additional gift is something I would really like to try. I am also quite a big fan of the Lookfantastic beauty boxes.
The delivery could be faster (e.g. Beauty Box arrives to my doorstep in the middle of the month and I am presubscribed), but so far everything arrived in one piece. For a little while, they were shipping products from outside EU which meant hassle and additional expenses, but they’ve realized we were all getting pretty angry and rectified their actions since.
They stock quite a few brands that are impossible to find in Slovenia, such as Elemis, Foreo, First Aid Beauty, Nudestix, Origins, …)
FEELUNIQUE (*click*)
As I understand, this store is a sister store from Lookfantastic and the shipping issues were quite similar. I don’t know why, but I always got the feeling that Feelunique was a bit cheaper version of the both, but they seem to keep track of what they’re doing with the online store a bit less (I can still find the “stocking fillers” section and under “value sets” I’m just getting an error.
If you sign up for their e-mails, you can take advantage of some pretty cool promotions. Just always make sure that you follow the link from the e-mail to the website, otherwise the promotion will not work (I learned that the hard way).
The brands that I most often look for in this store are Caudalie, Glamglow, Eve Lom, NUXE and Urban Decay.
SPLETICNA.SI(*click*)
This is my most recent discovery of a store that I find trustworthy and with a wide offer of different brands and products. Some prices are really much lower as in the stores, but you have to be patient and really look for offers.
Generally, I would say that this is perhaps not the store I would visit when looking for a specific product, but rather one I would enjoy for just random browsing. The delivery was quick and simple.
Spleticna.si offers most brands you can find in Slovenian drugstores (Maybelline, Bourjois, Max Factor), but also brands that are difficult or impossible to find (MAC, MUR, Miss Sporty, …)
