Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp- gifts and goodies to try out!

Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp presents

Yesterday, I wrote a long post about everything that happened at this year’s biggest beauty bloggers conference in Slovenia – Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp. You can find the post *here*. I already showed all the gifts on my Insta Live, but just in case you missed it, I wanted to do a post and show you everything I’ll be testing in the next couple of months. Some of these I will also put in future giveaways so keep your eyes open for those! The sponsors and gifts come in no particular order. Some of them have a promo code for you to use – I’ll include it in the description!

Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp sponsor #1 – L’Occitane

Terre de Lumiere L'Occitane Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp

L’Occitane kindly gifted us their new Eau de Toilette Terre De Lumiere from their new Christmas line. I am not the biggest fan of the original Terre De Lumiere fragrance but this one is much more gentle and perfect for me. They also kindly printed out our photos on little magnets ~ now, I have a daily reminder of my blogger friends.

Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp sponsor #2 -Aikon Academy

Aikon Wrinkle Catcher 3 in 1 Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp

Aikon Academy’s gift was the Aikon Wrinkle Catcher 3 in 1. I’m still unsure as to what this is, exactly, since the box claims it’s a daily moisturizer but it’s silicone based and contains retinol which is not something I associate with daily skincare. I’ll definitely report back on this one.

Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp sponsor #3 – Alterna Haircare & Olapley & Med in mleko hair salon

Caviar Anti Aging hair care Olaplex Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp

I’m a sucker for good hair care products which is why I also visit a salon that uses Olaplex during the coloring procedures on my hair. We received a bunch of goodies from Alterna Caviar Anti-aging line in a cute little bag and the Olaplex #3 which is perfect for home use. We also get to try out the procedure with Olaplex #2 in Med and mleko hair salons which would probably be a post that would interest most of you – am I right about that?

Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp sponsor #4 –  Ars Florae Gardenia

Melvita breakfast Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp

Ars Florae Gardenia made the whole conference special with these wonderful centerpieces and decoration of the halls. They’re my go-to florist, especially during the holidays, so I was super excited to learn about the current Christmas trends from the masters. I unfortunately forgot to collect my little plant, but as I lack the so called green thumb, I’m sure it will be better off with them. Nevertheless, thank you Gardenia!

Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp sponsor #5 – Afrodita Cosmetics

Afrodita Salt Scrub body souffle Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp

Afrodita proudly took home the award for best Slovenian brand and I’m 100 % on board with that. They are stepping up the game with their Afrodita Professional skincare line to the point where I don’t need to look across borders for good skincare anymore. Anyway, they gifted us the new Salt Scrub and body souffle with argan oil and lavender essential oil and the new Nourish-Gold therapy body milk (I got to choose this one for myself). Very excited to try them all out since I loved the previous strawberry version of the body souffle and salt scrub!

Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp sponsor #6 – Avon

Avon hand cream nail polish Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp

Avon included some of their bestsellers – the Planet Spa hand cream with shea butter, 7-1 nail polish (I need to research this a bit more) and a cool eyeshadow, perfect for the upcoming holiday season!

Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp sponsor #7 – Essence & Catrice

Essence Catrice Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp

We actually received most of these before the conference from Essence & Catrice so we could be picture ready on the important day. I’m looking forward to trying out the Time to wake up sheet mask and I really love both the Chrome blush (Essence) and the matte lipstick (Catrice) which I actually really did wear on the day of the conference.

Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp sponsor #8 – Fidimed

Fidimed Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp

Fidimed hooked us up with a bunch of their nutritional supplements to make sure we stay healthy during the winter months. I’m especially looking forward to trying out the mulitQplatinum and I’ve had great experience with immunoGran. It really helps if you take one when you feel a cold catching on or (pro tip) if you’re hungover. Fidimed also prepared a code for you: between 10.11. and 30.11.2017 you can use the code sledKnSvB on their online page for 10 % off any product.

New Bits and Bobs for July 2016

It’s the same story every month – I don’t really feel like I’m shopping at all, but at the end of the month when I try to take a photo of all new products, I fail miserably. So yes, there are a few missing in the photo above.

Let’s start with some bigger things. I’m going to start using this Biobaza 3-1 cleanser this week since I just ran out of my previous one from L’Oreal yesterday. I got sent the Avon Sun Light spray – perfect timing as my vacation is quickly approaching. I bought the Verde Vera hand cream in Spar because I like the packaging and I also like having a cream in a jar for the kitchen. View Post

New bits and bobs from June – review

It’s that time of the month again – time to look back at the products I bought in June (*click* for the original post) and have been trying out for the past couple of weeks. I haven’t had a chance to use all of them, but if I have an opinion, you’ll find it below. As always, it’s a long one – but by now you probably don’t even need that warning, right? 🙂

I really like the Aussie Festival Fresh Dry Shampoo – you can read my review and comparison with Batiste dry shampoo *here*. I also tried and loved the Avon Senses Joyful tropics shower gel – the scent (papaya and peach) is a bit sweeter than I normally like, but this one somehow agreed with me. I’m still waiting to try the Artdeco Senses Asian Spa shower gel, as well as both Afrodita goodies. I did however give a go to the Biobaza deodorant and so far, I’m not too impressed. These sunny, hot and humid days are a real make-or-break test for any deodorant though, so I’ll hold off on the final verdict.

The Avon Naturals Face Mist has been a staple in my bag for the past few weeks. I like that it has almost no effect on my face makeup (not that I’m wearing that much in this heat). I also had a good go with the Avon Sun Face Cream – it didn’t break me out and it provided a good base for my foundation, so I’m liking it a lot. I’m yet to try the Artdeco face spray and the Bourjois face scrub (typical beauty blogger 1st world problems: so many product, only one face!). I have been trying sheets masks out like crazy, though, and I really see the appeal. I will say that the Balea Aqua Mask is a good one and worth the 1€ it will set you back – if nothing else, you get to try the concept, which is a bit gimmicky, but very appealing to me personally. For an in-depth review, you’ll have to wait until the following Sunday when I’ll be doing a special post about sheet masks in general. View Post

New Bits and Bobs from May – review

Two weeks ago, I published a post with all the new products I bought or received in May (*click* to view the original post). Now, it’s time for short and quick reviews of the products – if you want a more detailed review for any of the products, let me know in the comments!

The L’Oreal Make-up remover says it’s not greasy, but it definitely is. I don’t mind it as much as I thought I would. It removes my make up great, even the waterproof mascara, so I’ll continue using it.

I quickly realized that I really cannot and should not be using anti-perspirants, no matter how badly I want to be sweat free. I didn’t like the Garnier InvisiCalm since it made my skin really sticky and weird feeling, so I threw it away.

I’ve rambled on and on about Nivea Protect&Refresh line already and I am a big fan. I’ve been using this sunscreen on every sunny outing so far and I am a big fan of the cooling effect.

The Mirati face wash gets a big thumbs up as well – it is a soft cooling gel that makes my face squeaky clean. I haven’t had any bad reaction to it and my skin is looking pretty great, if I say so myself. I’ve noticed that I only need the smallest amount to make it work, so this tub will last me ages. Nivea Sun Protect & Refresh line and DM goodies

Summer is coming and new launches of products we need for the summer are popping out at all corners. I am a summer baby and I get a lot of energy from sun and sea so I am very much excited for this moody weather to be gone – nothing under 30 degrees Celsius counts as summer in my book!

With new baby, I spend a lot of time outside which is something that’s new to me. I got a slight sunburn more than a month ago when I spend about 30 minutes in the noon sun and that’s one of the reasons that this Sunday, I’m doing a big post about sun protection, but today, I want to talk about a new launch from Nivea.

This Protect and Refresh lotion is something that will excite those who enjoy a bit of freshness in the warm months and those who don’t like sunscreen because of the sticky feeling. It combines a highly effective UVA/UVB protection with a natural cooling effect because of the menthol in the lotion. It absorbs quickly and is waterproof, which is another plus in my book. I have used it a couple of times now and I must say that it’s my favorite Nivea sunscreen so far. I find that my skin is quite soft after I use it but not sticky so I can also add another layer of clothing quickly if the weather takes a turn for the worse, which it so often does these days.

The Sun Protect & Refresh lotion is available in a 200ml bottle with SPF20 for about 10,50 € and a 200ml bottle with SPF30 for about 11,50€. It also comes in two other versions:

the Sun Protect & Refresh Invisible spray retails for the same price as the lotion, as does the Sun Protect & Refresh cooling spray, but the latter also comes with SPF 50 which costs 12,70 €.

Besides this great new arrival from Nivea, I quickly wanted to mention a few things that have been happening in DM. If you haven’t noticed, Rimmel replaced Manhattan in most of the DM stores (and the others will be getting it soon). It sounds almost too good to be true, but I’ve seen it with my own eyes and I was quite impressed with the offer. I would guess that so far we are only getting the bestsellers, but I hope that in time we will also start getting new arrivals. Check out my search engine for reviews of different Rimmel products.
