February favorites

It’s the shortest month of the year and it really went by in a New York minute for me. I’ve been working hard and playing hard, which made it a fun month. And here are some things that made it even more beautiful.

This Stenders Salt Scrub – Rose I actually picked up when shopping for a friend’s birthday present. It contains polished salt cyrstals, shea butter, rose petals, sweet almond and jojoba oil.

As you can see, the salt is really finely ground and the rose petals are mixed in. It doesn’t look very appealing to me, and the smell is not the loveliest to be honest, but it is a really, really great lovely scrub. It develops a more soft scent once you rub it over the skin and it leaves the skin super, super soft. The thing is, it feels a bit oily and I always wait a bit before putting my clothes on – similar as I would with a moisturizer. But still, nice.

This Pixi Concentrate Concealer I wanted for a while (#youtubemademebuyit), but I couldn’t force myself to pay 15€ for a miniature jar of anything, really. But thankfully, Look Fantastic always has some awesome sale and I managed to get it for about 10€.

I know, it’s really tiny, right?

The thing is, it’s quite yellow and does magic to my under-eye circles (which are at the moment the size of a banana, really). I just fix it with a bit of translucent powder and I swear I look 5 years younger in a minute. It’s worth every penny. The only dilemma I have is how exactly I’m going to scrape every bit of it out of this tiny jar. But so far, I’m good.

Next up we have my sweet love of the month – the Krüger Chai Latte – both in Vanilla-Cinnamon flavor and the Chocolate one. Each bag has a million calories and two million sugar, though, so I’m trying to limit myself to one a day only.

On the left, there’s my almost empty Bath&Bodyworks Anti-bacterial hand gel in Warm Vanilla Sugar scent. I carry this around with me in my purse and apply it whenever my hands feel dirty – after I come out of the store, after I fill the car up with gas etc. It dries in second and has a nice scent, unlike the regular anti-bacterial gels we can get in Slovenia.

I’ve never spoken about the My Spirit perfumes before, since they are a recent discovery. They are basically alternative perfumes – copies of the original scents, but packaged in generic bottles. Now I know that some people are against this, but I find it genius for travel or to stick in a bag, since the bottle will never break.

I chose the smell ChaCha, which is a dupe for Chanel Chance, one of my favorite perfumes. And guess what – it smells exactly like the original and lasts on the skin for an entire day. I give it 10/10 for quality. As far as the price goes, this 50ml bottle costs 24,40€, but they have promotions all the time (2+1 extra and things like that). The original costs about 4 times that much.

Admittedly, I’d never put it on my shelf at home, but if you’re looking for an inexpensive option to try some more perfumes, or for a perfume on the go, check them out. And no, I’m not affiliated with them in any way.

Last but not least, we have the reason I can wear red lips in winter.

This e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator with Vitamin E and Shea butter works like magic and costs a fraction of what you’d pay for a Lush lip exfoliator. It smells like sugar – there’s no other way to describe it. I usually wet my lips a bit, then apply a bit of product and massage it with my fingers until I feel that my lips are completely soft. Hint: it also makes your lips swell a bit, so if you’re going out to a hot date, you might consider using this before.

Anyway, these are my favorites – a lot of them, but it’s only fair I give them equal attention.

Also, I have a question for you – I’ve been thinking of doing Instagram and try to follow through with a series – perhaps every morning take a photo of everything I put on my face, while also documenting other bits and pieces of my life. What do you think of that – is it something you would enjoy seeing?

Remember, the giveaway beings on Monday. Until next time, stay beautiful.
