Catrice Spring/Summer – review & swatches

Catrice Spring/Summer – review & swatches

Judging by the weather, spring is right around the corner. Being a summer baby, I’m very excited about that, how ’bout you? Anyway, new season means new trends, new lines of products and new temptations at the drugstore. Among the first to roll the products out is once again Catrice that really stepped up their game in the past few years in regard to how they follow the trends and how they plan new lines. You can head over to Parokeets blog to see some more products from the new line, but today, I want to talk about three specific ones – a palette, a blush and a mascara.

Catrice introduced four new eyeshadow palettes (Nude, Copper, Matt and Blossom) but since I own more than enough neutral and matte palettes, I decided to go for the Blossom palette that reminds me of Urban Decay Naked 3 – smaller and ten times less expensive, that is. I can certainly say that the price-quality ratio goes in favor of the Catrice Palette. You get seven basic shades and additional shades for highlighting (inner corner or under the brow) and contouring (for instance for the outer V). All basic shades are derived from the pink category and range from light pink to dark purple color.

August DM wishlist

New month, new opportunities to spend some money, am I right? Payday is only a few days away so it’s only right that I prepare myself with a nice wishlist which I’m also sharing with all of you.

www.nivea.si
First on my list is the new Nivea Hairmilk shampoo and conditioner (each 2,49 €) but I’m going to perform a vigorous smell test in the store. If they smell anything like the classic Nivea cream, I’ll probably pass since I love the smell on my body, but not on my face and I don’t think I’d enjoy it on my hair, either.

www.maybelline.com
Moving on to make-up, I definitely need to grow a pair and actually give a chance to the Maybelline Master Contour stick. I’m slightly worried about blending the product out but hey – it’s make-up and I can always wash it off, right? It costs 7,99€.

www.wogibtswas.at
In the “beauty bloggers made me buy it” category, I present the Borotalco Intensive 48 hour deodorant (3,49€). Everyone is saying that this is the deodorant to try, so I’m definitely giving it a go, especially with the bad luck I’ve been having with deodorants for about three months now.

www.boots.com
I’m going to use some of my beauty points and get a coupon for 20 % off Garnier facial care and try the new Garnier Hypoalergenic Micellar Cleansing water. Garnier also has a special promotion on their make-up removing wipes (2,19€) which I’m a big fan of, so I’ll probably get a pack or two of these.

www.bocassy.com
Last but not least, I’m going to try a new brand – new to me at least, but not to the market in general. I’ve heard many good things about the Bocassy Micellar water and I’m now ready to try it out, even more so because the price is reduced by 30 % (6,79€).

And that’s it for my wishlist. But believe me when I say that it’s most definitely not everything I’ll be bringing out of the store. If you’ve been with me for a while, you probably know what I’m like 🙂

Until next time, stay beautiful!

New Bits and Bobs for July 2016

It’s the same story every month – I don’t really feel like I’m shopping at all, but at the end of the month when I try to take a photo of all new products, I fail miserably. So yes, there are a few missing in the photo above.

Let’s start with some bigger things. I’m going to start using this Biobaza 3-1 cleanser this week since I just ran out of my previous one from L’Oreal yesterday. I got sent the Avon Sun Light spray – perfect timing as my vacation is quickly approaching. I bought the Verde Vera hand cream in Spar because I like the packaging and I also like having a cream in a jar for the kitchen. View Post

New bits and bobs from June – review

It’s that time of the month again – time to look back at the products I bought in June (*click* for the original post) and have been trying out for the past couple of weeks. I haven’t had a chance to use all of them, but if I have an opinion, you’ll find it below. As always, it’s a long one – but by now you probably don’t even need that warning, right? 🙂

I really like the Aussie Festival Fresh Dry Shampoo – you can read my review and comparison with Batiste dry shampoo *here*. I also tried and loved the Avon Senses Joyful tropics shower gel – the scent (papaya and peach) is a bit sweeter than I normally like, but this one somehow agreed with me. I’m still waiting to try the Artdeco Senses Asian Spa shower gel, as well as both Afrodita goodies. I did however give a go to the Biobaza deodorant and so far, I’m not too impressed. These sunny, hot and humid days are a real make-or-break test for any deodorant though, so I’ll hold off on the final verdict.

The Avon Naturals Face Mist has been a staple in my bag for the past few weeks. I like that it has almost no effect on my face makeup (not that I’m wearing that much in this heat). I also had a good go with the Avon Sun Face Cream – it didn’t break me out and it provided a good base for my foundation, so I’m liking it a lot. I’m yet to try the Artdeco face spray and the Bourjois face scrub (typical beauty blogger 1st world problems: so many product, only one face!). I have been trying sheets masks out like crazy, though, and I really see the appeal. I will say that the Balea Aqua Mask is a good one and worth the 1€ it will set you back – if nothing else, you get to try the concept, which is a bit gimmicky, but very appealing to me personally. For an in-depth review, you’ll have to wait until the following Sunday when I’ll be doing a special post about sheet masks in general. View Post

New Bits and Bobs from May – review

Two weeks ago, I published a post with all the new products I bought or received in May (*click* to view the original post). Now, it’s time for short and quick reviews of the products – if you want a more detailed review for any of the products, let me know in the comments!

The L’Oreal Make-up remover says it’s not greasy, but it definitely is. I don’t mind it as much as I thought I would. It removes my make up great, even the waterproof mascara, so I’ll continue using it.

I quickly realized that I really cannot and should not be using anti-perspirants, no matter how badly I want to be sweat free. I didn’t like the Garnier InvisiCalm since it made my skin really sticky and weird feeling, so I threw it away.

I’ve rambled on and on about Nivea Protect&Refresh line already and I am a big fan. I’ve been using this sunscreen on every sunny outing so far and I am a big fan of the cooling effect.

The Mirati face wash gets a big thumbs up as well – it is a soft cooling gel that makes my face squeaky clean. I haven’t had any bad reaction to it and my skin is looking pretty great, if I say so myself. I’ve noticed that I only need the smallest amount to make it work, so this tub will last me ages.
