A world without hate

Let me start off this post by saying that I have a soft heart. I certainly don’t look like that, but those who know me well know this is true. I feel for humans and animals in need and I make a conscious effort to try and help in any way possible. I am lucky enough to have been born into a safe 1st world country and a family that doesn’t struggle and if I can do a bit to make someone’s life better, I will do it.

The level of impact that sad stories have on me has multiplied by a hundred since I’ve had my little man. I feel much more grief for children who live in fear or poverty and for families that cannot afford what we consider normal everyday necessities. And above all, my heart breaks for parents who lose their children.

Last week, we witnessed one of many stories that should serve as a reminder and a warning of what this world has become. Being hated on because of beliefs, race, religion, gender or any other separating factor, cannot and should not be tolerated anywhere around the world. These 50 people are dead because of their sexual preference. Just think about it for a second – they are dead because of who they loved. There are a hundred parents in this world that lost their children because they didn’t conform to what extremists view as normal.

Do you know the rainbow flag? Here is my recreation of it with products I love. The colors reflect the diversity of the LGBT community.

A wise person once said – if your religion requires you to hate someone, you need a new religion. I think that we should expand that thinking to everything, regardless of religion. There is no need for hate. There is no need for bullying. A the saying goes – if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

I wish for a world where we would all be safe and loved. A world I would be happy to introduce to my child. A world without fear and hatred. And I don’t allow myself to think it’s too much to ask for.

Where have I been? – Life update

Dear beauties,

Yes, I have sort of vanished from the face of the Earth in the past few months. I am sorry for that, but not much could be done about that. If you want to know the facts and reasons behind my disappearance, keep on reading!

As many of you may remember, I announced my pregnancy in beginning of January. My due date was 25th of March (which has come and gone and the baby is keeping us waiting) and since we didn’t buy a single thing until we told everyone, we had a lot to do in those three months.

I must say, that playing house all over again, decorating the nursery and buying baby clothes had been a blast and I enjoyed every minute of it. Everything had been set for about a month now, just waiting for the new addition to our family. I will share some photos once the little one arrives.

I had a really lovely pregnancy up until about 36 weeks (a normal pregnancy lasts about 40 weeks) and I was really proud of myself, saying sentences like »I could do this all the time« and »I don’t even understand why I have to go on maternity leave« and similar. Well, then 36th week rolled around and all of a sudden, every possible nuisance and pain related to the last month hit me hard. I got back pain. I got cramps. I got an inflammation of the carpal tunnel (which I still have and typing is hell). I began suffering from high blood pressure and swelling. I was filling ill all the time. I started having ligament pain. You name it, it hurt.

And yes, blogging was the last thing on my mind with my body so obviously set on hurting me.

For the past couple of days, I’ve been feeling a little better, but it’s possibly also because I know that it’s really going to be any day now that little M. joins this world. I have some posts planned in the meantime, hopefully I’ll be able to post them normally.

And once I come back, we’ll have plently of reasons to celebrate with a nice giveaway!

Until next time, stay beautiful!

I Love Christmas – tag

Yes, I love Christmas! It’s my favorite time of the year and ever since the 1st of December it looks like Santa’s workshop in my house. I am excited about everything – spending time with my loved ones, presents, Christmas dinner, the beautiful Christmas decorations in Ljubljana – you name it, I love it. Therefore, I was very excited to be tagged in the I Love Christmas Tag by Rebeka from My Little Wonderland blog and without further ado, here are my answers 🙂

1. What’s your favorite Christmas color?
I love gold color, so my living room looks like a can of gold and glitter exploded all over the place.

2. What’s your favorite Christmas movie?

My very favorite movie to watch during the Christmas holidays is Home Alone 2, cheesy, I know. But when we are talking about actual Christmas movies, I’m going to go with Miracle on 34th street.

3. What’s your favorite Christmas song?
I adore the song Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt, but if you meet me in December, expect to hear many Christmas songs out of my mouth, since I begin to listen to my Christmas playlist as early as middle of November.

4. The most anticipated Christmas tradition?
Christmas dinner with my family on Christmas eve. I know that my entire family loves coming to a full table of delicious food that I prepare througout the day.

5. Is your tree fake or real?
We’ve always had an artificial tree. I find it to be more rational and more eco friendly.

6. PJ’s or fancy dress on Christmas eve?
For Christmas eve, I always dress to impress. I might go for a Christmas sweater this year, since I’ve seen some pretty ones in H&M.

7. When do you open presents – on Christmas eve or Christmas morning?
We open presents with my family on Christmas eve and later, when everyone leaves, me and my hubby open our presents from each other alone. We also usually get each other a little somethin’ for New Years day.

8. Do you believe in Santa?
I learned quite early that Santa doesn’t exist through a strategic error of bad timing by my parents 🙂 I really don’t mind acting like it exists for the younger children, though, I find it endearing that they still believe in such things.

9. What is your Christmas wish?
My Christmas wish is that me and my family would be happy and healthy in 2016. For a personal wish, I wish for a +1 to our little family.

10. Have you ever built a gingerbread house?
I don’t like gingerbread so I’ve never even considered it. I would probably build one with my nieces if they came pre-packaged and the assembly could be easy.

11. What is your dream Christmas destination?
If I could go anywhere in the world, I’d probably choose London or Moscow since they are quite original with their decorations every year.

12. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeers?
Dasher and Prantzer and Comet and Vixen, Donner and Blitzen… but do you recall… the most famous reindeer of aaaaaaaaallllllll? Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, had a very shiny nose… Go listen to this tune on repeat and you’ll know all of Santa’s reindeers by heart in no time.

Thank you Rebeka for creating this tag and tagging me in it. I wish you all happy and wonderful and glittery holidays! As always, until next time – stay beautiful!

20 random facts about me tag

I’ve come to know a lot of you quite well, but still I feel that since I am blogging anonymously, I sometimes don’t reveal as much as I could. So in order not to start rambling about nonsense before I even being writing for real, I introduce you to 20 random facts about me that not many people know. Do enjoy them and please let me know an interesting fact or two about yourself in the comments below!

1. I hardly ever forget my cell phone at home, and if I do, I will return home to get it no matter how far from home I’ve already come.

2. I never drink energy drinks – I drank my last Red Bull in high school almost 15 years ago and then decided never to have one again.

3. I love swimming and use to compete as well, but I am terrified of water, or better said, things that lurk in the shadows, so I never go into the sea by myself. Being a statistic, I see it as minimizing the odds of being eaten.

4. If I get mad, I forgive quickly, but I never forget. It’s not in my nature to hold a grudge, but I have incredibly good memory for storing silly things.

5. I really dislike eating things with my hands.

6. Until I broke my ankle a couple of years back, my only shoes without heels were a pair of sports trainers and some beach flip-flops. I was in heels for at least 300 days each year. And nothing under 7 cm would even qualify as a heel.

7. My first concert I went to was Caught in The Act. At the same time, it’s the thing in my past I lie about the most when asked, since I’m not exactly proud of it. View Post

This or That – Beauty Edition Tag

As you are reading this, I am already on my way to the airport. I’ll admit that with all that is happening in my life, it was a bit difficult to plan a lot of posts ahead, especially with the fact that I can barely do any photos since I get home around 17h and poof – the sun is already gone.

So today (and once more in the following week) you will get to learn a bit more about me. Hopefully, you enjoy the tag. I also tag each and every one of you who would be willing to do this tag as well! Let’s get right to the questions!

PART 1: MAKE-UP

Via Daily Mail
1. Blush or Bronzer?

Easy – I love buying blushes but only use them once in a blue moon, but I go through my bronzers like crazy. Bronzer it is. Many bronzers, in fact.

2. Lipgloss or lipstick?

Lighter shade of lipgloss and darker shades of lipstick. But if I had to choose one for the rest of my life, I would choose lipstick.

3. Eyeliner or mascara?

Again, an easy one – I could not live without a good mascara (or three, to be exact).

4. Foundation or concealer?

This is a bit tricky, since I do love my concealers, but I would still go for the foundation, a full coverage one to really cover any imperfections.

5. Neutral or color eyeshadows?

I am trying to be bolder with my make-up looks, but considering that I work in an office and deal with clients, I would still choose neutrals.

6. Pressed or loose eyeshadows?

I would choose pressed, since I’m regularly out of time and I don’t need the hassle of loose eyeshadows all over my bathroom. But I love admiring the loose eyeshadows in stores, especially the duochrome ones that don’t come around often in pressed form.

7. Brushes or sponges?

With the exception of my Beauty Blender, I don’t really care for sponges. So I would choose brushes since I can do everything with them. View Post
