In the blog about 2017 and plans for 2018, I promised a New In each final Friday of the month. Naturally, I also receive some packages in the final days of the month, but these will be included in the post of the following month. I’ll include a short review wherever I can, but in most cases, you’ll have to wait a little while longer for any real evaluation of the products. If there’s something you’re really interested in, let me know in the comments below and I’ll try my best to review that product for you. Now, let’s go ahead and get started. All the products I bought on my own are marked with a * for full disclosure.
Vichy kindly sent me a gorgeous suede make-up bag, Vichy Nutrilogie 2 Intense cream for very dy skin, cute notebook and Vichy Slow Age Eyes, targeted care for developing signs of ageing with anti oxidant baicalin, bifidus and gingko. It’s meant to help reduce puffiness, dark circles and fine lines.
If you didn’t know, I’m a moderator for a Slovenian group about cosmetics. Every once in a while, all of us gather and have a little party and this time, we also got some presents! I got the cutest set with Nabla Velvetine long-lasting lip pencil in the shade Grace and Nabla metallic liquid lipstick in the same shade. They are absolutely gorgeous and I’ve been wearing them a lot lately.
At the same moderator meet-up, I also received Derma E Essentials – Microdermabrasion scrub from Beautybottled that blends away dullness and smooths the fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars. I’ve used it a couple of times so far, gently massaging it into my face for about three minutes before I rinse it of. It’s a microdermabrasion scrub that shouldn’t be used too often in order not to damage the skin, but once a week or so seems just right for my skin. I really like it so far and I’m happy to add another eco product to my stash.
Dr. Organic is a new brand to Slovenia and I was excited to try their products. They sent me the Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner, Hemp oil Body Wash and Virgin Coconut Oil deodorant. The latter is formulated without aluminium, SLS, paraben and alcohol, which is perfect for our sensitive skin and prevents any clogging of the pores. I’ve got a full post about these coming next week so stay tuned for that.
Essence is celebrating their 15th Birthday this year and apparently, it means gifts for everyone (think Oprah). I was sent the stunning Ready, set, glow holographic make-up bag, Essence Be my highlight eyeshadow palette, Make me special lipstick topper and a gorgeous eyeshadow blending brush.
I’m always excited for new LRP products, especially since I’ve started my love affair with Serozinc. I was sent La Roche-Posay Toleriane Teint Mineral compact powder with SPF 25 (Sand beige) and the Eau Micellaire ultra, micelar water for sensitive skin.
i did a little bit of shopping myself. I bought the e.l.f. powder brush* and Blush&bronzer duo in St.Lucia*. Both of these are repuchases and i got them from iHerb. Sadly, they changed the shades in the St. Lucia compact and I think both will be far too light for my skin tone.
In December, I participated in a Secret santa. From my secret Santa, I received a gorgeous Melvita gift set with L’Or Bio soap and a small travel size of my beloved L’Or Bio oil – I already wrote a whole post about it *here* if you want to check it out.
Speaking of Melvita, I also got sent the Argan Concentre Pur Youthful cream oil with 5 % argan oil. I use it in the night and carefully massage it into my skin. I find that these anti ageing products don’t really sit well with me during the day, but I really enjoy using them at night and giving my skin a full pampering session. I will definitely be writing a full post on this cream – it deserves it.
There are tons of new trend editions coming from Catrice and Essence and I got to choose a couple of prodcuts to try out. From Essence Boys&Girls collection I chose a facial sheet mask that’s also formulated with niacinamide. From Catrice Blush Flush collection, I got the Cushion Powder cheeks which is my first every cushion blush and looks really interesting.
Sticking to my new year resolution to not purchase as many things I don’t need as in previous years, I only bought a few items during December and January. I bought two Ombia hyaluron gels* from Hofer. I already used them a year ago and really like the consistency. Besides that, you also can’t beat the price:quality ratio with this hyaluronic acid gel. I also replenished on eyebrow tools from Ecotools* since a girl can never have too many eyebrow brushes. I am a big fan of Ecotools brushes in general and have quite a few in my collection.
Avon sent me the new Mark Epic Lip in shades Spellbound (left) and Sangria Shock (right). I really like the classic Mark line of lipsticks (review *here*) and I’m looking forward to trying the new Epic Lip although I must admit I’m not a big fan of the Spellbound color at all. The new formula promises a lipstick&primer combo in one and intense pigmentation.
Bourjois sent me the new Healthy Mix Anti-fatigue blurring primer with vitamin mix (A, C and B5). The new collection also includes a BB cream which I’m quite excited to try out since I usually like the Bourjois face products a lot. I also received a package from Dragocena.si with the new Vipera Overweight volume mascara and Vipera Avantgarde Make-up illuminator for beautiful and glowing complexion.
I don’t usually participate in giveaways from fellow bloggers but I couldn’t stop myself when it came to the Morgan Taylor polishes in the giveaway by Lacquered Bits. I was very lucky and received four mini bottles from their Christmas line – three polishes and a topper. The shades are: gold – Just Tutu Topper, red: Don’t toy with my heart and plum: Plum-thing magical. The topper is called Silver in my stocking. I tried Morgan Taylor polishes before and I really, really like the formula. I might just call it my favorite from the more expensive nail polishes.
The last event I attended in 2017 was the Make-up Revolution party organized by Licila.si. I received a bunch of their products, but most impressive are the Pro Amplified Strobe and highlighting palette, Pro HD Amplified 35 palette and the I heart makeup Chocolate Rose Gold palette. I’ve been playing with them quite a lot recently and although I’m not a fan of all the shades and the variation of pigmentation through the palettes, I think that the MakeUp Revolution products are a really good option for those of you who like to play around with make-up and look for a good price:performance ratio.
I’m very excited to play around with the new products I bought and received a bit more and give you my verdict on some of these. As always, until next time, stay beautiful!
