Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp 2018 - my experience and photos

The day of Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp is one of the days I look forward to the most during the entire year. A day spent with incredible girls, many of whom I call friends, talking, trying out new cosmetics, gossip, good food, great lectures and amazing energy. This year, Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp was organized for the third time in a row and as always, I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Thank you Nika (Beautyfull Blog) for all your efforts and for making it an amazing experience! Also big thanks to Peter Poles who made sure that the conference stayed on schedule and entertained us with his quick thinking and witty comebacks throughout the day.

Today, I want to show you a bit of what was happening throughout the day and talk about it. Tomorrow, I’ll already show you the gifts we brought back home and what I’ll be testing throughout the next couple of months.

Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp ~ morning

We were greeted at the conference by Melvita. They armed us with great and super useful goodie bags and also prepared breakfast for us.

After quick chit-chat and hugs, it was time for the first lecture of the day. Irena Deželak talked to us about our feelings, motives and goals for our blogs, as well as our personal responsibility toward our audience. I’ve hear lectures similar to this quite a few times now but they always get under my skin, so I found it to be the perfect start to the morning.

After a quick chit-chat with Tesa Jurjaševič about what it means to be a blogger and the new Vichy ambassador…

… we headed into a different hall for the second lecture of the day by Lena Gregorčič. Lena is a SEO expert and this was her second time giving lecture at BBMU conference. I think that she did a wonderful job and my notebook is filled with things I need to check, additional questions and topics that probably need my attention.

Last morning lecture was held by Tjaša Deu, a super successful Slovenian YouTuber. She had a what I call YouTube 101 lecture for us, telling us the absolute basics of how to go about starting our own YouTube channels. As I’ve mentioned many times now, I’ve been considering adding YouTube to the list of my platforms, so perhaps this will be the push I need to get started. A great lecture and lots of enthusiasm all around.

Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp ~ lunch & beauty market

After the morning lectures, it was time for lunch and our pop-up market with some of the sponsors of the conference. There are a bunch of photos waiting for you below, but I really want to give a shout-out to the afternoon sponsors that made the pop-up showroom really interesting and fun. Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp ~ afternoon

After all this fun (and food), it was time for some more lectures. To kick things off, Petra Arula talked to us about making sure our posts are grammatically correct. I find this topic really important so I’m glad we got a chance to freshen up on some rules of Slovenian language.

Nina Glamuzina Krajnc from Aikon Academy gave us her opinion about skincare and myths surrounding it. This is the lecture I was looking forward to the most but I don’t think I got much out of it, unfortunately. Still, there were a few topics that I consider food for thought for the future.

Monika Horvat from agency Kuka gave us a crash course in online marketing. This was a really interesting lecture since most of us are only starting to consider promoting ourselves and our work. We’ll also have a chance for a 1-1 meeting with her which I’m very excited about. Last lecture of the day was actually a round table was all about media and blogger responsibility. There were a bunch of interesting topics on the table and I think that this lecture was something we absolutely needed. The discussion was held between Nika Erčulj, Sonja Merljak Zdovc, Sandra Bašič Hrvatin and Ula Furlan.

Last but not least, it was time for the Beautyful Bloggers Awards. Each year, our community of beauty bloggers votes on the best and most innovative products of the past year and if a certain brand gets at least a third of all votes, they get to take home the reward. This year, the winners were: Olaplex (best haircare), C20 Tetraforce (best facial skincare), Terre De Lumiere skincare by L’Occitane (best skincare), S.Oliver for her (best fragrance), Licila.si (best online store), The Ordinary by DECIEM (best beauty innovation), Afrodita (best Slovenian brand) and Stillmark (best collaboration with beauty bloggers). Each year, we also choose on of us that really stands out from the rest and name her Beauty Blogger of the year. This year, I’m so proud to say that the reward went to Gabi from Parokeets blog -my good friend and a wonderful person who really deserved this reward!

Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp ~ evening beauty market & party

At the end of the day, it wasn’t quite time yet to let our hair down and relax. Again, the venue was filled with new pop-up stands and sponsors: Alterna Haircare (presenting Olaplex and Phyto products) and Med in mleko hair stylists (who did an amazing job on my hair), Catrice (with the new Caviar Gauche LE collection), Nelipot (with their range of natural deodorants), Gelish and Sisinger 21 (with Morgan Taylor nail polishes), Le Couvent Des Minimes (wishing us all good night with Eau Sereine) and Adria Media.

There was talk, there was gossip, there were endless photoshoots, champagne and everything that comes along with these events. At the end of the day, I could barely stand on my two feet but my mind was racing, filled with enthusiasm and positive energy from the amazing day with my amazing girls. I cannot wait for the year to roll around and for another opportunity to spend another fun filled day at Beautyful Bloggers MeetUp 4 in 2018!
