Subrina Vitamins & Strength

I am such a sucker for foreign brands that I rarely think about reaching for something domestic, which is unfortunate, really, since I am only now learning how many wonderful brands are being made right here in my backyard.

Subrina is one of the brands that’s really been neglected on my part and I got a chance to try two of the products from the Vitamins & Strength line that I got at the Beauty Blogger Meetup. They are sold at the Click2Chic online store. The shampoo costs for 2,34 300 ml and the conditioner 2,49 € for 250 ml.

Both shampoo and conditioner are without parabens, mineral oil and formaldehyde releases meaning that they don’t contain all sorts of things that are not really beneficial for your hair or your scalp.

I really, really like the way that the combo of both products makes my hair feel – it’s nice and silky, very light but also feels nourished. I didn’t notice any significant changes as far as the outward appearance goes – my hair pretty much looked the same as it always does.

One thing I would have liked different is the smell. Although I put a lovely smelling oil in my hair when it’s still damp, I could still feel the overpowering smell of perfume in the conditioner through it and I wasn’t impressed. But, if that’s your thing, you will love this Subrina line, because the smell really lingers for a long time.

Until next time, stay beautiful!

I heart makeup Black Velvet palette

I noticed that my Blogvember was strangely lacking in make-up reviews, so I decided to switch posts around a little bit and show you the newest addition to my palette collection, the I heart makeup Black Velvet palette.

This palette was also a gift I received at the Beauty Bloggers Meetup from the online store Licila.si which you all know I am a big fan of and their regular customer. You can get the palette here for 10,95 €. And, you know, feel free to look around, they always have great offers and promotions!

Anyway, back to the palette. This is not my first I heart makeup palette and although I am a bit ashamed of the photos in the post about the last one, you can read about my I heart passion palette here.

This palette is very much one I can see myself using each day, since it contains so many different shades, but very few are so bold that I’d skip on them for my everyday look.

I believe that each palette in this world should comply to a few rules: have a couple of shimmers, a couple of mattes or satin shades, a matte black shade and a matte highlighting/base shade. If it fails to meet those rules, I find that I can’t really create a whole look with it and that automatically puts me off.

This palette does all that and more. The 16 eyeshadows offer a lot of variety and remind me a lot of my Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette in terms of versatility. View Post

Secrets of Dvorec Trebnik products

Trebnik Mansion, geddit? The brand I want to write about today is actually named Dvorec (i.e. Mansion) Trebnik, but it sounds much more exotic the other way around in English, so I’ll roll with it.

I’ve been obsessed with Dvorec Trebnik bath salts for about a year now and haven’t used anything else since I first purchased them. For some reason unknown to mankind, I have not tried any of their other products until we got a nice goody bag at the Beauty Bloggers Meetup (which I keep mentioning and will mention throughout Blogvember, so get used to it) full of products from their DT line.

Inside the bag, we found three products and I’ve been using two of them non-stop for the past couple of weeks. First, I want to talk about the DT Energy tonic – a refreshing face and body mist. View Post

Oils are not just for cooking: Afrodita Oil products

You know the myth about not ever applying oils to oily hair and oily skin? I personally am well acquainted with it and I deprived my skin and scalp of good oils for years and years. Well, the tables have turned and now I’m a deep believer in providing that extra bit of nurture.

I bought the Afrodita Jojoba oil shower gel a couple of weeks back and guess what – it was my first ever Afrodita shower gel. Like – the first one to enter my bathroom. I went on using it for a couple of days and then I noticed that the amount in the bottle was vanishing at a quicker pace then expected.

I confronted my significant half and he admitted that this was one of the best shower gels he ever tried. Personally, I agree. I can hardly believe that a normal shower gel with added shea butter can really leave my skin so soft and supple while at the same time not oily at all. I am a huge fan and will definitely repurchase it. You can get yours here for only 2,10 €, but it is also available in all large supermarkets and drugstores.

The second product I wish to talk about is the Afrodita Argan Oil which is quite new on the market (other product recently released is the Afrodita 10 in 1 serum that I also need to get my hands on). It is also available here for 4,00 €.

This oil promises to provide you with 6 different things: healthy ends, deep impact repair, restored shine, deep hydration, intense nutrition and protection. I must say that I didn’t really like the way my hair looked or behaved when I applied this to slightly damp hair since I feel that it weighed them down a little bit. In that sense, I would favor other oils (e.g. Keraste or Moroccan Oil) over it. On the other hand, when used on dry hair it really seemed to seal the ends and give my hair a bit of shine, which consequently made my blow-dry seem a lot more put together and professional.

I would definitely recommend both of these products and I look forward to seeing what else Afrodita has in store for us!

Until next time (yes, tomorrow, you’re right!), stay beautiful!

Something Yummy

Yummy is another brand that I’ve never come across in my life and I was super excited to see that a products from their range was gifted to me at the Beauty Bloggers Meetup, courtesy of the online store Click2Chic.

If you visit their store, you will find a whole range of Yummy products in the yummiest scents possible – I am personally most attracted to anything that smells like coconut and vanilla, but I am sure that everyone can find something for themselves.

Anyway, what I found in my box from Click2Chic was this Yummy body butter.

I tend to steer clear from body butters during the warmer months since they take such long time to really soak into the skin and I don’t appreciate being all sticky during the summer. Consequently, I don’t have much experience to go on, but I do use one particular brand during the winter months.

I can easily say that this Yummy body butter in the scent of Darkest blood orange with shea butter, cocoa butter, macadamia oil, coconut oil and vitamin E is quite different in texture to the Body Shop body butters I am used to because of the lighter texture.

You cannot really tell just by the photo of the texture itself, but it is much lighter than other body butters I have used and soaks into the skin much quicker which is always a plus for a girl on the go.

I must say that the smell straight from the is not really up my alley because it’s a bit too sour for my personal liking, but when applied on the skin it develops a much softer, sweeter fragrance that I personally enjoy a lot.

I think that a set of products from this brand will make a great Christmas gift for some of my lady friends and I am really excited to introduce them to this great brand that I will probably continue using for many years to come.

If you could choose any flavor from this brand, which one would it be? (hint, I am not just randomly asking that).

Until next time (which is of course tomorrow), stay beautiful!
