Nivea Sun Protect & Refresh line and DM goodies

Summer is coming and new launches of products we need for the summer are popping out at all corners. I am a summer baby and I get a lot of energy from sun and sea so I am very much excited for this moody weather to be gone – nothing under 30 degrees Celsius counts as summer in my book!

With new baby, I spend a lot of time outside which is something that’s new to me. I got a slight sunburn more than a month ago when I spend about 30 minutes in the noon sun and that’s one of the reasons that this Sunday, I’m doing a big post about sun protection, but today, I want to talk about a new launch from Nivea.

This Protect and Refresh lotion is something that will excite those who enjoy a bit of freshness in the warm months and those who don’t like sunscreen because of the sticky feeling. It combines a highly effective UVA/UVB protection with a natural cooling effect because of the menthol in the lotion. It absorbs quickly and is waterproof, which is another plus in my book. I have used it a couple of times now and I must say that it’s my favorite Nivea sunscreen so far. I find that my skin is quite soft after I use it but not sticky so I can also add another layer of clothing quickly if the weather takes a turn for the worse, which it so often does these days.

The Sun Protect & Refresh lotion is available in a 200ml bottle with SPF20 for about 10,50 € and a 200ml bottle with SPF30 for about 11,50€. It also comes in two other versions:

the Sun Protect & Refresh Invisible spray retails for the same price as the lotion, as does the Sun Protect & Refresh cooling spray, but the latter also comes with SPF 50 which costs 12,70 €.

Besides this great new arrival from Nivea, I quickly wanted to mention a few things that have been happening in DM. If you haven’t noticed, Rimmel replaced Manhattan in most of the DM stores (and the others will be getting it soon). It sounds almost too good to be true, but I’ve seen it with my own eyes and I was quite impressed with the offer. I would guess that so far we are only getting the bestsellers, but I hope that in time we will also start getting new arrivals. Check out my search engine for reviews of different Rimmel products. Pet razlogov, zakaj sem ujetnica znamke L’Occitane

L’Occitane me v mojem življenju spremlja, odkar pomnim.

1. Pomanjkanje vodi v pogubo

View Post

What I am buying myself before Christmas

There are so many things I find while randomly browsing online and I never actually get around to buying them. But I decided that that will change this year. I work hard for 12 months, hardly ever take any time for myself and I deserve a treat. But since I will already be getting a bunch of presents for Christmas, I plan to do some Pre-Christmas shopping. This is my list.

1. Yankee Candle: Cosy by the fire

Photo: Yankee Candle Webpage

Cosy by the fire perfectly describes how I would like to spend December this year, but it’s also a name of a Yankee candle. This candle includes the smells of ginger, cloves and orange as the main notes and as much as I don’t think that the Yankee Candles are the best candles ever, I still like to have one handy for those cold winter nights when a candle or two brighten up the mood in the living room. Find this (and many other alluring candles) here for 11,90 € for medium sized candle.

2. Lush bath bomb: Shooting for the stars

Honey and caramel? Sign me up. This bath bomb from Lush is called Shooting for the stars and I need one (or two, or, you know, a couple) in my life. I need to do an online purchase though because I know that if I set foot in the actual Lush store, we will only be eating potatoes for the rest of December. Find it here for 5,95 € for 200g.

3. Carpisa: Hard Toiletry Bag

If you’re a traveler like myself and always worry about what is happening to your make-up in the back of the car or in the airplane cargo space, you need one of these. It’s the Carpissa Hard Beauty Toiletry Bag and I find it a must for everyone who values their foundation bottle over their life. Naturally, it won’t hold all of the make-up that I necessarily want to bring with me, which is why I will probably afford myself two of them. You can find it in Carpisa stores for 19,99 €.

4. Smile Concept store: Happy Lights

I know that these lights would certainly make me happy every evening I would turn them on. And since I deserve to be happy, why not? You can find them at Smile Concept store in shop or online for 29,40 €.

What are you treating yourself with this month? Let me know (and give me some ideas) in the comments below. And as always, stay beautiful!

New products – August 2015

I tried to be reasonable with my shopping in the past month, since I’ve got quite some business and personal trips coming up in the near future and I intend to purchase some products that are not easily available to me in Slovenia (or not at all). That being said, I still slipped on some occasions and I also received some Freedom Make-Up from Licila.si to try out, but I will review those in a separate post.

First off, I took advantage of a nice Yves Rocher offer where one could choose three products for 12,50 € (the promotion is still valid).

Since I’ve never tried Yves Rocher products before, this seemed like a nice opportunity. I bought the Replumping serum foundation, Blackberries sparkling body powder and Hair Repair Oil. The company also sent me some extra samples to try out and a shopping bag which comes in handy for my everyday grocery purchases.

I haven’t tried all of the products yet, but can I just point out how beautiful this packaging from the sparkling body powder is? I absolutely love the little puff and the smell of it as well – it really does smell like blackberries! View Post

Sephora (and MAC) haul

I know that some of you take offense when I’m writing about things that are not easy/next to impossible to get in Slovenia (or, to be honest, in Europe), but still I got some positive feedback from others, saying that you like such posts, since they make you either have them shipped/buy them on your travels/order them from friends that are traveling etc.

Well, I do realize that writing about products that you cannot just go out and buy isn’t exactly productive, but just keep in mind this one thing – if you dream it, you dreams can come true. And please, don’t only apply it to make-up shopping 🙂

Anyway, my Sephora basket wasn’t as extensive as it was about a year ago, but my wishes have gotten much, much more specific.

First of all, I was on the hunt for a full coverage foundation. This Kat Von D Lock it tattoo foundation does seem dark for me in the bottle (shade 54 – medium), but for some reason it’s the perfect shade – if I were to buy it over the internet, I would go much lighter and completely miss the target.

I literally just need one tiny pump of this foundation to cover my entire face, and boy oh boy, does it cover every single thing. I wouldn’t say this is an everyday foundation for me, but it’s great for when I will need my complexion to look fabulous. I would not wear this every day since it does feel quite heavy and I have a feeling that it does crawl deep into my skin and settles there. It cost 35 $ at Sephora.

Next is an absolute must and a palette that has probably been review by every beauty blogger (and their mother) on this planet, but as always, I’m late for the party. It’s the Anastasia Contour palette (mine is in light to medium). View Post
