Catrice Spring/Summer – review & swatches

Judging by the weather, spring is right around the corner. Being a summer baby, I’m very excited about that, how ’bout you? Anyway, new season means new trends, new lines of products and new temptations at the drugstore. Among the first to roll the products out is once again Catrice that really stepped up their game in the past few years in regard to how they follow the trends and how they plan new lines. You can head over to Parokeets blog to see some more products from the new line, but today, I want to talk about three specific ones – a palette, a blush and a mascara.

Sonček, ki je danes posijal tudi v našo kotlino, napoveduje skorajšnji prihod pomladi. Sem otrok poletja in ljubim toplo vreme, zato me to zelo veseli, prav tako pa me veselijo tudi novosti v naših drogerijah. Med prvimi novo linijo napoveduje Catrice, ki zadnje čase res izredno dobro sledi lepotnim trendom, kar se odraža tudi na njihovih linijah izdelkov. Na Parokeets blogu si lahko ogledaš še več novih izdelkov, sama pa bom danes spregovorila o treh – paletki senčil, rdečilu in maskari.

Catrice introduced four new eyeshadow palettes (Nude, Copper, Matt and Blossom) but since I own more than enough neutral and matte palettes, I decided to go for the Blossom palette that reminds me of Urban Decay Naked 3 – smaller and ten times less expensive, that is. I can certainly say that the price-quality ratio goes in favor of the Catrice Palette. You get seven basic shades and additional shades for highlighting (inner corner or under the brow) and contouring (for instance for the outer V). All basic shades are derived from the pink category and range from light pink to dark purple color.

Pri Catrice so sicer predstavili štiri nove palete senčil (Nude, Copper, Matt in Blossom), ker pa imam nevtralnih in mat paletk že kar nekaj, sem se odločila za Blossom paletko, ki na hitro kar močno spominja na Urban Decay Naked 3 – seveda v pomanjšani različici in z desetkrat nižjo ceno. Vendar pa lahko vsekakor rečem, da premosorazmerje med kakovostjo in ceno v tem primeru ne velja. V paleti je 7 osnovnih odtenkov ter dodatni senčili za osvetljevanje (na primer v kotičku očesa in pod obrvjo) ter konturo (recimo v zunanjem V). Vsi osnovni odtenki izhajajo iz rožnate družine in se prelivajo od svetlo roza do temno vijolične barve.

New blog look + A-Z tag!

I have been thinking about getting my blog a new home and a new look. It took a while (a whole month, to be exact), but finally, it’s here! I hope you like the way it looks – I think it’s prettier and much easier to navigate. On the top, you have different categories you can browse through and on the right, you can use search to look for specific things that might interest you. I couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out although I still have a lot of work to do since all the old posts look a bit different and need a bit of TLC (and computer skills). Hopefully, I will get everything just the way it’s supposed to be in a couple of months.

Že kar nekaj časa sem želela svoj blog preseliti na njegov lasten naslov in mu podariti tudi nov videz. Trajalo je kar dolgo (cel mesec, da smo čisto natančni), ampak končno je tu! Upam, da ti je nov videz všeč – meni se zdi lepši in precej bolj pregleden. Na vrhu lahko najdeš različne kategorije zapisov, na desni pa z iskalnikom lahko poiščeš vse, kar bi te morda zanimalo. Čeprav bo s starimi objavami še kar nekaj dela, saj se jim je videz med prenosom kar precej spremenil, pa sem osebno zelo vesela, da smo že skoraj na cilju. Upam, da bo čez kakšen mesec vse izgledalo tako, kot želim.

While I was sorting through old content, I found an old tag post (almost two years old) that I enjoyed very much and wanted to do it again. I’m talking about the A-Z tag where you choose one favorite brand and one favorite product from that brand for the entire alphabet. I am missing H & I (since I apparently don’t have any favorites for those letters), but other than that – here they are!

Ko sem brskala po starih zapisih, sem našla tag, v katerem sem zelo uživala, zato sem ga želela ponoviti (do takratne objave je namreč že dve leti). Gre za A-Z tag, v katerem za vsako črko abecede izbereš eno najljubšo znamko in znotraj tiste znamke še najljubši izdelek. Priznam, da nisem našla nobenega res dobrega izdelka za črki H & I, ampak vse ostale favorite ti predstavljam tu.

A, B, C, D

Avon has many great products and it was hard to choose one, but I love the color of this Avon Nailwear Pro+ in Minty. It’s similar to Essie Mint Candy, but the formula is better and it stays on my nails for up to a week. Bell Hypoalergenic is a relatively new brand to me but I’m really enjoying the Mat Powder (natural effect) and I’m about to hit pan! It’s a fine tinted pressed powder which makes my skin look flawless but doesn’t cake up on the liquid foundation. Catrice is my favorite drugstore brand and I have a large collection, but the winners in my book are the Shine Appeal Fluid Lipsticks that are light, well pigmented and not sticky at all. The shades and the packaging are gorgeous as well. Dvorec Trebnik is one of the best Slovenian beauty brands in my opinion and I am really loving this Refreshing toner with hamamelis extract. It’s light, smells nice and really cleans off my skin well

Avon ima mnogo super izdelkov in težko sem izbrala enega, venar pa sem popolnoma zaljubljena v barvo Avon Nailwear Pro+ Minty. Spominja me na Essie Mint Candy, vendar pa je formula Avona po mojem mnenju boljša in se na mojih nohtih obdrži tudi po cel teden. Bell Hypoalergenic je znamka, ki jo šele spoznavam, vendar pa res uživam pri uporabi Mat Powder (natural effect). Gre za fin puder v kamnu, ki mojo kožo naredi čudovito, vendar pa ne ustvari videza maske, ko ga nanesem čez tekočo podlago. Catrice je moja najljubša znamka in moja kolekcija ni majhna, kot svoj najljubši izdelek pa sem izbrala Shine Appeal tekoče šminke, ki so lahke, dobro pigmentirane in niso lepljive. Prav tako mi je zelo všeč pakiranje in izbor barv. Dvorec Trebnik je ena najboljših slovenskih lepotnih znamk in Osvežujoči tonik z izvlečkom nepozebnika lepo diši, je lahek na koži in jo tudi dobro očisti. View Post

Products I want to use up in 2017 ***** Izdelki, ki jih želim porabiti v letu 2017

I’ll admit that my make-up collection isn’t exactly tiny. And also, I don’t really like thinking about it as a collection. I have more make-up than the average woman so I can compare products when I review them, but I really don’t want to hoard my make-up to the point where I no longer have anywhere to put it. Consequently, I decided that for the first time I’ll try to use up some of the products in the upcoming year.

Priznam – moja zbirka ličil ni ravno majhna. In o njej nerada razmišljam kot o zbirki. Seveda imam več ličil kot povprečna ženska, predvsem zato, da jih lahko med seboj primerjam, ko jih ocenjujem, vendar pa si v resnici ne želim toliko ličil, da ne bi vedela, kam z njimi. Posledično sem se letos prvič odločila, da bom nekaj izdelkov namensko skušala porabiti do konca tekom leta 2017.


The first product is the Catrice Chocolate Nudes Palette – you can find the review and more photos *here*. The biggest issue I have with small palettes is there is always something missing – a light matte shade for under the browbone, a shimmery shade for the inner corner or a good neutral crease color. This palette has it all so I can use it alone, but I simply don’t remember about it often enough. Hopefully, I’ll be able to use up the whole thing since all the shades are lovely and well pigmented.

Prvi izdelek je Catrice Chocolate Nudes paletka – oceno in več slik lahko najdeš *tu*. Problem manjših paletk je, da jim vedno nekaj manjka – bodisi svetla mat senčka za pod obrvi, bodisi svetlikajoč odtenek za v kotiček očesa, bodisi dobra nevtralna barva za v pregib očesa. Ta paletka ima prav vse to, zato jo lahko uporabljam tudi samostojno, vendar se premalokrat spomnim nanjo. Upam, da mi jo bo uspelo porabiti v celoti, saj so prav vsi odtenki zelo lepi in dobro pigmentirani.

BLOGMAS #6: BEST OF 2016 – MAKEUP ***** NAJBOLJŠI IZDELKI LETA 2016 – LIČILA


The year is coming to an end and among other things, a post about my favorite make-up products in 2016 is an absolute necessity. I reviewed quite a few of these products during the year. Where such post already exists, I’m including a link so you can read about the product in detail.

Eden od letnih zaključkov, ki je vsekakor nujen, je takšna objava o mojih naljubših ličilih, s katerimi sem se srečala v letu 2016. Mnogo teh izdelkov sem tekom leta že ocenila – kjer takšna ocena obstaja, bom vedno dodala povezavo, da si lahko prebereš še moje podrobno mnenje.

I tried to choose one product in each category but had to leave some categories out (like bronzer) because I simply didn’t find a product that would amaze me in 2016. Since there are still a bunch of products I want to talk about, let’s get started!

V vsaki kategoriji sem poizkusila izbrati en izdelek, pri čemer pa sem morala nekaj kategorij izpustiti (na primer bronzer), ker enostavno letos nisem našla izdelka, ki bi me tako očaral, da bi ga danes želela deliti s tabo. Ker pa je ličil vseeno veliko, predlagam, da kar začneva.


Let’s start at the base. My favorite primer of the year is L’Oreal Infallible Mattifying base. It’s a silicone primer that was put on hold during the warm summer months, but in normal weather this primer creates a lovely base on my face, fills the pores and prepares the skin for the liquid foundation. In that category, I really enjoyed the Catrice HD Liquid Coverage which is a mattifying foundation. Dropper made sure that the application was simple and besides being mattifying, this foundation also excelled in coverage. I also have to mention the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops (review *here*) that truly amazed me this year. I mixed them with primer, day cream, BB creams and other liquid foundation. They always blended nicely and made my skin look nice and fresh. Last but not least I want to mention the Maybelline Affinitone concealer that is creamy and thick (more than I can say for most concealers I own) so I mainly use it to cover imperfections and not for highlighting under my eyes. It’s too heavy and creamy for that in my opinion.

Začniva pri osnovah. Moj najljubši primer leta je L’Oreal Infallible Mattifying base. Gre za silikonski primer, ki je v največji vročini sicer počival v predalu, vendar pa mi v normalnih temperaturah ustvari lepo podlago na koži, zapolni pore in kožo s tem pripravi na tekočo podlago. Med temi sem letos uživala predvsem v uporabi Catrice HD Liquid Coverage, ki je mat tekoča podlaga. Kapalka poskrbi za enostaven nanos, poleg matiranja pa se ta podlaga lahko pohvali tudi z dobro prekrivnostjo. Poleg te podlage dodajam še Cover FX Custom Cover Drops (ocena *tu*), kapljice, ki so me letos poleti resnično navdušile. Dodajala sem jih primerjem, dnevni kremi, BB kremam in drugim tekočim podlagam, s katerimi so se odlično zmešale in ustvarile lep, svež videz moje kože. Nenazadnje je tu še Maybelline Affinitone korektor, ki je bolj kremast in gost, kot je to značilno za večino korektorjev v moji last, zato ga uporabljam predvsem za prekrivanje nepravilnosti na koži, ne pa toliko za osvetlitev predela pod očmi, saj je za to po mojem mnenju pretežak in pregost. Golden Rose event

Golden Rose brand recently celebrated its first year since bringing the brand to the Slovenian market. I’ve mentioned their products quite a lot on my blog already since Golden Rose brand has a wide variety of products and the prices are very reasonable.

Znamka Golden Rose je pred kratkim praznovala prvo leto, odkar so svoje izdelke pripeljali na slovenski trg. Na mojem blogu sem o znamki že večkrat spregovorila, ker gre za znamko s pestro ponudbo izdelkov in žepu prijaznimi cenami. 



Until now it was only easy for us girls from Ljubljana to get the Golden Rose products (in BTC Hala A and City Park), but this story changed a couple of months ago – now, you can buy their products in the online store Licila.si and shops in Celje and Velenje.

Do sedaj smo imele le Ljubljančanke ta privilegij, da smo z lahkoto lahko prišle do Golden Rose izdelkov (v BTC Hala A in City Parku), vendar pa se je zgodba bistveno spremenila nekaj mesecev nazaj – sedaj lahko namreč izdelke kupiš tudi v spletni trgovini Licila.si ter v trgovinicah v Celju in Velenju.


 

Along with my fellow beauty bloggers, I attended a birthday celebration of Golden Rose where we celebrated along Slovenian brand owner Enisa Musai, Gregor from online store Licila.si and make-up artist Mateja Pozeb.  We also had a chance to try out some new products from the offer but unfortunately the lighting was quite bad so photos don’t do justice to the products.

Tokrat smo se blogerke ob prvem rojstnem dnevu znamke Golden Rose družile z lastnico blagovne znamke Eniso Musai, Gregorjem iz spletne trgovine Licila.si ter vizažistko Matejo Pozeb. Kasneje smo imele možnost kar nekaj novosti v ponudbi tudi preizkusiti, vendar je bila žal svetloba preslaba, da bi fotografije ne delale krivice izdelkom. View Post
